Downcast and Discouraged?

Know God, comforts the downcast,
And gives grace, for each need,
Our hope, ever in the LORD,
He never fails us, always succeeds!

So, give God thanks and praise;
Sin and death, are overcome;
In Christ, now as His child;
You’re so beloved, your war is won.

With unending persecution;
Nigerian leaders do not care;
May we commit, to ceaseless praying;
To see our God, deliver there.

So midst our own, deep dark valleys
We oft’ recall, our wrong behavior
Yet focus not, upon our failures
But trust in Christ, our risen Savior.

Facing fierce fires, to burn dross
Trusting Jesus, we lay hold
Be surrendered, and stay faithful
We shall come forth as gold.

Be not discouraged, nor despair
As He prepares you, in Christ
Working all things for good
By grace in Him, fully sufficed.

You are my hiding place
And also my shield
I hope in Your Word
There Your love, revealed.

So, despite such depravity
The height of men’s evil
You will comfort, and care
LORD God, Your own people.

His bloodshed, our new birth
By God’s Spirit, divine
From death, now resurrection
LORD, all the glory is Thine!

So be ready, prepare
For our freedom is fading
Our faith is attacked
Great wickedness, invading.
