We’re not equipping, with ‘how-to’
Nor teaching, Jesus’ way
Not mentoring, role-modeling
Not reproducing, to obey.
Modern Churches versus Home Churches
Yet Jesus left us, His great Commission
God’s strategy, to reach the world
Make disciples, not pew sitters
Teach them obey, His every word.
Seeing Beyond
Are we seeing beyond
Life’s heartaches and pain
Great suffering, and sorrow
…Yet see God, bring gain?
Churches Teach, but Don’t Disciple
One-on-one, in small groups
Much time, mentoring, Jesus discipled
Equipped and trained, ‘how’ to obey
To reproduce, go make disciples.
Renewing the Church
Seem so few, will die to self
So ask Jesus, to start using
My life holy, be His witness
Disciple-making, reproducing.
Blind Spots
Denying, defending
Denouncing as true
Each weakness and failure
God points out to you?
In Political Contributions They Trust?
God offers a promise
If His people will pray
And humble ourselves
Walk in His way.
Our Daily Battle is Real
Succumbing not, to our foes
Our culture, our flesh
Nor the devil’s destruction
But see Christ’s, blessed success.
Church Leaders in Disciple-Making?
So let us focus, on Jesus’ mission
Train in outreach, disciple-making
Equip the saints, reach the world
Role modeling, and mentoring!
The Mission Driven Church
With those gifted, to equip saints
For the work of the ministry
Edifying, the body of Christ,
To go multiply, in each vicinity.
