How to Forgive
So, let us turn and learn
Forgiveness and grace
As Christ, forgives us
Choose His love, to replace.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness depends
Not on the offender
They may have done wrong
Jesus tells us, be a forgiver.
Forgiveness or Feelings
While Jesus, showed love
Forgiveness, not hate
Building bridges, not walls
To unite, not separate.
Repairing Relationships
For hearts have so hardened
Forgiveness, forgotten
Love, is so lacking
God’s truths, downtrodden.
Fixing Broken Relationships
‘Feed your enemy, if hungry
And if thirsty, water too
Heap coals of fire, on his head
The LORD, will reward you’.
Failing to Love
And likewise, our neighbor
To love, as our self
Yet too often, we’re selfish
Serving largely, our self.
Earthen Vessels
So dear saint, do not focus
On outer flaws, your external
Know God searches hearts
‘Tis our soul, that’s eternal.
Do Learn to Forgive
Do learn to forgive
So you can forsake
Lest you carry hurts
Resentments, heartache.
Discounting Divorce
Instead of commitment
Honoring God, and spouse
We’re caught up, in a culture
Pleasing ‘self’ and our doubts.
Child Raising
These wounds we keep picking stay hurting and sore we delay them from healing, cause pain even more.
