Keys to Prayer

Our High Priest, the LORD Jesus
Who taught us to pray
By His Spirit, in our weakness
Intercedes, leads the way.

By Your Spirit, I’m reborn
By Your Spirit, empower
By Your Spirit, do direct
By Your Spirit, overpower.

By constant prayer, keep seeking
Lest we wander, and fall
Ever dependent, await
God’s Word and wisdom, in all.

Know, our God will not fail
We will taste no defeat
For He ever conquers
Come worship, at His feet.

Remember our brethren
In starvation and need
Persecuted, forgotten
Daily, do intercede.

Yes, pray for God’s Spirit
Come speak to your soul
Not rushing while reading
Lest from Him, time you stole.

So, draw near to God
Repentant and yearning
Hungering and thirsting
Worshiping, and learning.

But God is the LORD
So be patient and wait
He will answer on time
He’s not early, nor late.

So, lean not on your flesh
But obey, always the LORD
Yes, ceaselessly praying
See, great blessings poured.

Jesus taught us, to pray
To our Father in heaven
That His will be done
On earth as in heaven.
