Answered Prayer

All God states, He will do
All He promises, fulfills
Cannot lie, nor deceive
So, wait upon Him, be still.

Yet God invites us, to pray
Participate, in His plans
Bids us ask, seek and knock
To seek His will, not man’s.

Our High Priest, the LORD Jesus
Who taught us to pray
By His Spirit, in our weakness
Intercedes, leads the way.

By Your Spirit, I’m reborn
By Your Spirit, empower
By Your Spirit, do direct
By Your Spirit, overpower.

By constant prayer, keep seeking
Lest we wander, and fall
Ever dependent, await
God’s Word and wisdom, in all.

Like the Psalmist of old
We cry out, poor and needy
Do preserve us, O God
Save your servants, our entreaty.

So little energy and time
Few invest in prayer
’Tis no great surprise
God’s blessings aren’t there.

So, until that day comes
When all evil is ended
Claim victory, in prayer
Overcome, we’re defended.

Wait on the Lord
For His timing, not mine
And trust Him, whatever
For His hour, divine.

While waiting, grow strong
Learn to lean on the LORD
Grow in faith, endurance
See blessings, then poured.
