Dying Churches and Denominations

Instead of “Modern Churchianity”
May we return to bible teaching,
Obeying Jesus, disciple-making,
For we are failing, rarely outreaching.

Before Plans, Preparation, Programs or Pulpits….Pray!

Before our plans, our preparations;
Before our programs and preaching;
Before our coming to the people;
Persistent praying, keep petitioning.

The ‘Church Growth Movement’ Failure

Rather persistent, prayer and fasting,
Based on God’s Word, to pour His Spirit,
To equip, start making disciples,
Cry unto God, “Our church come fill it”.

Why Many Churches Are Closing

Not endless rows, of pew spectators,
Passive, unaccountable, few partakers,
Instead of church routines, traditions,
Learn to train, disciple-makers.

Jesus’ Command…Will Churches Obey?

So may church leaders, see beyond,
Customs, traditions, familiar ways,
To awaken, to Jesus’ command,
Learn disciple-making, and obey.

Degrees or Disciple-Makers?

Discipling ministries, now growing,
Teach to equip, train ‘man-to-man’,
May we too, obey Jesus,
Go reach all nations, with His plan.

From Dysfunction, to God’s Unction

See God’s blessing, and His fruit,
O such riches in Christ,
No more despair, no more darkness,
All in Him, fully sufficed!

How Big Are Our Prayers?

That multitudes, become disciples,
Make more disciples, disciple-making,
Keep raising up, and going forth,
Pray for each nation, to keep obeying.

Britain’s Burning, Are We Praying

So, as we pray for the UK.
Such chaos, surely compels.
“If My people who are called.
By My name, humble themselves”

Persistent Prayer

But if prayer, may seem ‘unanswered’,
Do keep trusting and obeying,
Keep persevering, till a ‘No’,
Still follow Jesus, be ever praying.
