Parched for Prayer

Yes, so little prayer time
And few, long on their knees
We’re so lacking, God-dependence
We mostly live, to self-please.

For Jesus only, our Creator
Living in us, He can supply
His grace, ever sufficient
Simply trust Him, and abide.

Not merely our words
But prayer, is our heart
Expressing our passions
Our most inner part.

So, persevering in prayer
Asking God, to guide
How to pray, what to claim
He’ll reply, and provide.

So, by faith offering God
What is pleasing to Him
Believe that He is
Rewards those seeking Him.

Since this vessel, is dry
I come open, and empty
O Lord, come and fill
From Your rivers of plenty.

Control and compel me
Conform me to Christ
Consume all the dross
His blood has sufficed.

I awaken, give thanks
For a new day, O LORD
And this, I call to mind
Your loving kindness…am awed

May Your glory come down
That multitudes may see
LORD God, open eyes
Let more captives go free.

Jesus marveled, in wonder
To His disciples, revealing
The centurion’s great faith
For his servant’s healing.
