Fighting in Prayer

And the fiercer the fight
The more we depend
On our Captain, His army
To defeat and defend.

But, by faith we’re forgiven
By faith we are saved
By faith, keep abiding
And by faith, will be raised.

So, stop looking to people
To meet all you’re needing
Since God will supply
More praying, and believing!

And come ask in faith
Not doubting reluctant
Plead but for God’s will
Persist boldly, exultant.

I keep asking and seeking
Knocking and believing
For heavenly showers
With the Lord, I keep pleading.

In the day of my trouble
I will call upon You
For You will answer me
You are faithful, and true.

Yes, you’ve come to the place
Of desperate prayer
Your heart is so torn
Need God, show His care.

Ask God for key people
Let us pray, without cease
Those who influence others
Like the ‘persons of peace’.

Communing with God
Being constant in prayer
Amidst fiery darts
Distractions, despair.

When you come before God
Boldly asking in prayer?
Or doubting, debating
Does God, really care?
