A Hunger for God, and for Souls

So, daily hunger for God
For hungry souls, that yearn
To follow Jesus, and multiply
A fruitful harvest, in return.

By Your Spirit, I’m reborn
By Your Spirit, empower
By Your Spirit, do direct
By Your Spirit, overpower.

By constant prayer, keep seeking
Lest we wander, and fall
Ever dependent, await
God’s Word and wisdom, in all.

Take hold of me, LORD
Completely possess
Come fill every part
Transform me, and bless.

Do sanctify, purify
This vessel of clay
And use for Your glory
Your plans, each day.

So, remember they’re family
Forget not, stay prayerful
Your brothers and sisters
In Christ… do be faithful.

Not to let God’s Word
Depart from their heart
But, teach to their offspring
Be diligent, to guard.

Keep watching and praying
By the LORD, you’re assigned.
Yes, pray until victory
Let His Spirit guide.

Yes, pray for God’s Spirit
Come speak to your soul
Not rushing while reading
Lest from Him, time you stole.

Yes, so little prayer time
And few, long on their knees
We’re so lacking, God-dependence
We mostly live, to self-please.
