Passover-First Fruits-Easter

On this ‘Feast of First Fruits’
A burnt and grain offering
Foreshadowing Messiah
And His people, following.

How God frees from bondage
All those, captive to sin
Jesus’ blood, our atonement
To cleanse of leaven, within.

As you look in the mirror
Who do you see
A child of the King
Or, the old fallen ‘me’?

So, by faith offering God
What is pleasing to Him
Believe that He is
Rewards those seeking Him.

Though God has chastised
They faced every threat
But His Covenant people
He does not forget.

Grew up with tradition
Lived under the Law
Rabbinical Judaism, Yiddish
Was the life that I saw.

Reconciled thro’ His death
To God, in one body
Fulfilling God’s Law
A new covenant, to embody.

Thirst for Jesus’, living waters
And walk in God’s Spirit
Set your mind on His Word
“LORD, this vessel, daily fill it”.

A faith based on facts
So fully supported
In the LORD God, eternal
Who created and ordered.

As Jesus taught them, to focus
Upon God, and His greatness
‘Tis not, the size of our faith Know unforgiveness, constrains us.
