Burdened, Bondage or Free?

Be willing, to die daily
See self-crucified
As a child of the King
In Christ, all supplied.

Equipped the saints, disciple making
As God’s Word, obeyed, applied
Just as Jesus, with His disciples
They went forth, and multiplied.

Not passive spectators
Sitting silent, just staring
But God’s Word applying
Reproducing, all were sharing.

We’re not equipping, with ‘how-to’
Nor teaching, Jesus’ way
Not mentoring, role-modeling
Not reproducing, to obey.

Not by our own efforts
Our flesh, cannot conquer
We need Jesus’ power
Without Him, we falter.

Yet Jesus left us, His great Commission
God’s strategy, to reach the world
Make disciples, not pew sitters
Teach them obey, His every word.

And as a branch, in His vine
Jesus tells us, keep abiding
To bear fruit, of God’s Spirit
His ‘Self-control’, He is providing.

As the High Priest, wore a plate
“Holiness to the LORD”, engraved
Let us daily, give God glory
Live in holiness, be not depraved.

My body, His temple
For worship and praise
Released from my prison
To new life, am raised.

Cease expectations from the other
That we long, they will provide
Our deeper needs, seek from God
So, bear His fruit, in Him abide.
