Day of Atonement

Yet Yom Kippur, now has no offering
Cannot atone, no perfect ram
For Yeshua, The Mashiach
Already came, fulfilled God’s plan.

And yet our hope is not in weapons
The arm of flesh, will fail
Pray Israel trust in the LORD
Know her Messiah, wholly prevail.

Yet, our God uses foes
In revealing His plan
That Israel, be saved
Despite the evil of man.

So while able, to wrap Tefillin Had my inner barrier, of sin
Understood, Messiah Yeshua
Forgives and purifies, within.

Till today, Israel fights
Now back in her land
Freed from Hitler’s hatred
Instead, Hamas’ evil plans.

While the ‘Tanach’, Old Testament
Clearly details, Messiah’s picture
Most Pharisees, rejecting Jesus
The One fulfilling, God’s scripture.

Are your sins simply covered
Or taken away
Are you hoping good deeds
Will save on that Day?

Like Israel of old
We’re to purge our lives
Drive out, all our foes
Know God’s blessings, and thrive.

So like Israel, we too co-habit
Instead of purging, die to self
Compromising, we let our flesh
Pursue the carnal, and worldly wealth.

Despite our striving to be ‘good’
We fall short, are unrighteous
Messiah’s offering, atonement
By faith, we’re made righteous.
