Pew Spectators or Disciple Makers?
We’ve many, passive in the pews
Low expectations, of ‘laypeople’
Spectators, not disciple makers
Obeying, training of God’s people.
Pew Warmers, or Gospel Sharers?
For as saints we are called
To serve and to care
Those hungry and hurting
God’s Good News to share.
Prosperity Preachers or Great Commission Teachers?
Not a self-serving ministry
But sinners saved, when speaking
Not into personal prosperity
But lost souls, we’re seeking.
Pew Sitters or People Seekers?
But evangelists are training
To equip and show how
Watch their videos, read books
Obey God, and learn now.
RELATIONSHIPS
Cease expectations from the other
That we long, they will provide
Our deeper needs, seek from God
So, bear His fruit, in Him abide.
Jesus’ Commission, or Men’s Traditions?
If church planting or growing
Need both teaching, disciple training
Use Jesus’ template, to multiply
As we are sadly, sitting and failing.
How Jesus Disciples
From God’s Word, we also find
Discipleship is reproducing
Be wholly yielding, and outreaching
Not just head knowledge, but observing.
Relationships and Our Heart
So may our hearts, love God and people
God, daily search me, know my heart
Reveal all barriers, or wicked ways
Cleanse, transform me, a new start.
Gathering AND Going?
So focus not, on just the gatherings
But go like Jesus, disciple training
Mentored His followers, to reproduce
Obey His Commission, go disciple-making!
Not Focused on Church Buildings
Jesus finished, His atonement
Yet His ministry, was incomplete
Left His mission, disciple-making
We are commanded, to complete.
