Are we humble and lowly
Or proud, self-serving
Are exalting ourself
Or submissive, subserving?

Poor in Spirit?

Are so weary of self
All the efforts you make
Self-reliance, self-ambitions
All fleshly, vain mistakes.

Regarding Your statutes
That I may not be ashamed
Live a life with sound roots.

LORD, in accord with Your Word
Teach me good judgment
And knowledge, conferred.

But with grace, sufficient
In our weakness, His strength
His omnipotence, omniscience.

Break barriers, asunder.
